It reached 109 degrees in Las Vegas on Saturday afternoon, but things heated up even more inside Thomas & Mack Center in the late moments of the Kings’ Summer League clash against the Orlando Magic.
The Kings were trailing by six points with 7.4 seconds left in regulation. But the game was far from over.
Neemias Queta knocked down a 3-pointer from the top of the arc to bring the game within three. Then, as the final seconds ticked off the clock, the Kings forced a steal and Keegan Murray -- the No. 4 overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft -- swished a game-tying triple.

The game eventually went into double overtime, a sudden death format that awards the team which scores the first bucket the victory. Defense ultimately came out on top in the Kings' 94-92 loss.
After Orlando won the jump ball to begin double overtime, the Kings' great defense forced Magic rookie Paolo Banchero to turn the ball over following a bad pass. This gave Sacramento the chance to finally put an end to the game.

But defense persisted on the other end of the floor.
The Magic returned the favor and a block by Banchero sent things the other way. That’s when Orlando big man Emmanuel Terry hit the game-winning layup.
It was a showdown between this year’s top draft picks in Murray and Banchero.
Murray finished with 20 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc, along with nine rebounds.

Banchero had 23 points, six rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks, including the game-sealing block and assist.
The Kings will look to get things going away on Sunday when they play the Indiana Pacers at 12 p.m. PST.
