We’re all finding inventive ways to keep our lives as normal as possible while sheltering in place. That’s especially imperative for athletes who up until recently weren’t allowed to practice in their usual facilities.

Kings assistant coach Rico Hines offered some advice on how to improve your shooting from the comforts of your home -- even while laying on the couch.

Here’s what he said:

He also shows the process when you’re not doing it correctly.

This helps with muscle memory and by the time you’re back on the court, your body already is geared up and ready to go. If all goes right, it’s able to improve shooting form and rotation by consolidating it all into one area.

Hines almost is like a basketball almanac, his player development responsibilities are part of what makes him so knowledgeable. He’s also created a strong following on social media for those not only interested in what he has to say about the game, but the stuff off the court as well.

But remember, if you’re trying this drill at home, and the basketball gets away from you and breaks a window -- you’re doing it wrong.
