As much as the Kings would love to land 18-year-old French phenom Victor Wembanyama, that likely would mean their season has gone off the rails.
Webb, clearly joking about Wembanyama to the Kings, noted Thursday night that when Sacramento wins its first game of the season, he won't tweet about the generational talent again.
Webb, who appeared on "Kings Pregame Live" on NBC Sports California last December while rocking a vintage Jason Williams jersey, hasn't been swayed in his fandom despite Sacramento's 16-year NBA playoff drought and the rise of the Warriors into a dynasty.
Webb made it clear to one follower on Twitter where his allegiances rest.
Wembanyama, the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, arguably is the best prospect to enter the league since LeBron James nearly 20 years ago. Standing at 7-foot-3 with skills comparable to Kevin Durant, teams are salivating at the chance to get him.
