Kevin Huerter is taking his talents to Salt Lake City.

The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Tuesday, citing sources, that Huerter will be one of eight participants in the 2023 NBA 3-Point Contest on Saturday night at All-Star Weekend.

Huerter will go up against Celtics guard Jayson Tatum, Heat guard Tyler Herro, Pacers guards Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield, Trail Blazers stars Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons, as well as Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen.

Huerter is shooting a career-high 39 percent from 3-point range this season and leads the Kings in makes from downtown (139). He has nailed at least three 3-pointers in 27 games, and he tied a single-game career high with seven treys against Miami on Oct. 29.

The 24-year-old is the fifth Kings player to enter the 3-point challenge since the event began in 1986.

Peja Stojaković participated in four consecutive seasons, from 2001 to 2004, and won twice. Hield won the event in Chicago at the 2020 All-Star Weekend, but Jim Les (1992) and Mitch Richmond (1992, 1994) didn't bring any hardware home from their appearances.
