Joe Thornton singing Britney Spears? Joe Thornton singing Britney Spears.

You’re welcome ahead of time.

During a recent interview with Sportsnet, the 22-year hockey veteran, who spent 15 seasons with the Sharks, sang some carpool karaoke and was elated to sing the pop princess’ classic hit “... Baby One More Time,” and it is everything you would expect it to be.

“Who doesn’t know this song?” Thornton laughed.

He was right. He knew all the words, and it kind of makes you want to sing along with him.

So wholesome.

Thornton signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs last October, ending his long tenure with San Jose. The Leafs previously had made an attempt to acquire him back in 2017 when he was a free agent, but he remained with the Sharks.

He originally was brought to the Sharks via trade from the Boston Bruins during the 2005-06 season.

During his time with the Sharks, Thornton recorded 1,055 points (251 goals and 804 assists) and remains one of the most well-known and legendary members in franchise history.

Britney would be proud.
