Though he has the public support of boss Ed Woodward, United enters Wednesday's match in 10th place in the English Premier League and eight points back of UEFA Champions League qualification. The Red Devils are in danger of failing to qualify for Europe's premier club competition in back-to-back seasons for the first time since the competition re-organized in 1992.
Tottenham have allowed two goals in each match under Mourinho, so Spurs are vulnerable at the back and United will have to take advantage in order to remain a top-four contender.
