Liverpool FC and Chelsea aim to maintain their strong form at home in their respective matches Saturday.
The Reds host Brighton, having not lost at Anfield in over two years. Liverpool clawed back to earn a UEFA Champions League draw midweek against Napoli. The reigning Champions League winners have cut it close in three of their last four English Premier League matches, falling into a 1-0 hole each time yet still managing to pick up all three points. Twelfth-place Brighton have not won away from home in the league since beating Watford 3-0 on Aug. 10, giving injury-riddled Liverpool a strong chance to begin the season undefeated through 14 matches.
Chelsea, meanwhile, welcomes London rivals West Ham United to Stamford Bridge. The Blues lost last week to reigning champion Manchester City, but Frank Lampard's squad only has one loss at home -- to Liverpool, no less -- in the Premier League this season. The Hammers, meanwhile, look set to join nearby Watford, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the "London teams who have sacked their coaches" club, as Manuel Pellegrini's seat is red-hot with West Ham sitting 17th as of this writing. Beating a former Hammer wunderkind in Lampard will go a long way towards saving his job.
