Just a few years after wrapping up his NBA career, former Warriors center Andrew Bogut has become an owner of a professional basketball team in his native Australia.

The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 draft, Bogut accrued 14 seasons in the NBA. He came over to the Warriors in the infamous Monta Ellis trade in 2012, playing five years for the franchise. The big man was the backbone of the Warriors' defense during the team's championship run in 2015.

Bogut signed with the Sidney Kings in 2018, winning the league's MVP in his first season in the National Basketball League. He came back to the Warriors near the end of the 2018-19 season, playing in 11 regular-season games before appearing in 19 NBA playoff games as the Warriors advanced to the 2019 Finals, losing to the Toronto Raptors in six games.

At just 36 years old, Bogut has to be one of the league's youngest owners.

One of the Warriors' second-round draft picks in 2020, Justinian Jessup, plays for the Illawarra Hawks in the same league.

Bogut joined the Dubs Talk podcast in April, and talked about how he has seen his former teammate Steph Curry's game evolve since the star won a pair of MVPs alongside Bogut.

"The biggest thing that I respect about Steph is, he has had to modify his game a little bit after those MVP runs," former Warrior Andrew Bogut said on the Dubs Talk Podcast. "I mean, two-time MVP and then lets in a guy who is essentially one of the best basketball players in the world and then would share the spotlight of being one of the best guys on the team.

"He rolled with it. He took on a lesser role to an extent. He knew he would take less shots, he wouldn’t have the ball in his hands as much, and to go from that to back to where he is now, to flip that switch of I’m the guy again, I need to be a 30-point plus scorer, that’s hard to do."
