The Warriors got off to a hot start Thursday night against the Los Angeles Clippers, as Steph Curry's 25-point first quarter helped Golden State jump out to an early 19-point lead.
That lead didn't last, however. A sloppy, low-energy second quarter allowed the Clippers to get back into the game and take a one-point lead into halftime. Curry would eventually save the Warriors from what would have been a hard loss to stomach, scoring 45 points and hitting two massive 3-pointers in the final two minutes to give Golden State a 115-113 win.
Draymond Green added 10 points in the win but revealed after the game that he needed a pep talk from head coach Steve Kerr after "pouting" during a low-energy stretch for the Warriors.

"We got off to a great start, the crowd was hopping," Green told TNT after the win. "We lost our energy. That was on me. It's my fault. I was sulking, pouting. And Coach Kerr came to me and said, 'You need to pick it up! We need your energy! You bring it!' And we responded and this crowd was great."
Green went 4-of-5 from the field but missed seven of his nine free-throw attempts in the win.

The three-time NBA champion knows he has to keep his energy and high and do all the little things for the Warriors in order to show some of his young teammates what is required to win at the NBA level.

"It's very important because someone has to show these guys the way," Green told TNT. "And also, someone has to do the little things. You can't expect these young guys to know what it takes to win. That's where it falls on us. We spoke about having a team with young guys and old guys and how that's a challenge. Well, the huge part of that challenge is carrying these young guys and showing them what these little things are that lead to tough wins like tonight."
The Warriors are 2-0 and after opening the season with wins over the Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers. Green will be the first to admit that the Warriors have a long way to go, but 2-0 is 2-0.
Golden State will be back in action Sunday against the Kings in Sacramento.
