Draymond Green no longer will be silent when it comes to fighting for racial justice and causes he believes in.
The Warriors forward -- who admitted recently that he has not voted since the 2008 Presidential election -- understands how important it is for the African American community to cast ballots in elections at the local and national level.
That's why the three-time NBA champion joined LeBron James' "More Than a Vote" initiative.

"I just want to do my part," Draymond told USA Today Sports' Mark Medina. "If you can change a few minds along the way, you can possibly change the course of history.”
The three-time All-Star said this within the context of the fact Donald Trump won the state of Michigan -- Draymond's home state -- in 2016 by about 11,000 votes.
“That’s such a small margin," he said. "If we do our job as the African-American community and get out and vote, that just does not happen. So maybe we’re not in a pandemic right now. Maybe things are handled a little differently.
"But due to a extreme lack of leadership, these are the issues we’re faced [with] today as a country."

Draymond also is well aware that it won't be easy to enact change, and that we have a long road ahead to achieve racial equality.
“I’ll continue to push these issues and stand behind those willing to fight for us as Black people that are being oppressed in so many different situations,” he told Medina. “It’s important we continue to move forward and continue to stand up for what we believe in.
"We can’t stop now. The fight is just beginning. It’s far from over.”
