Five best anecdotes from Steph Curry's 13 3-pointers vs. Pelicans

On Nov. 7, 2016, Steph Curry made NBA history.

The two-time NBA MVP made a single-game record 13 3-pointers against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans (Klay Thompson, of course, pushed his Splash Brother out of the record books when he made 14 two years later).

As voted on by Warriors fans, Curry's record-setting performance vs. the Pelicans beat out another Steph classic, where he scored 40 points in three quarters on Dec. 2, 2015 against the Charlotte Hornets. Due to the fan vote, NBC Sports Bay Area will broadcast that Warriors-Pelicans game Friday night.

Although all Steph performances are magical, 40 points in three quarters can't quite compare to his record-setting performance vs. the Pelicans, where he totaled 46 points (16-26 shooting, 13-17 from 3-point), five rebounds and five assists in a 116-106 Golden State victory.

The prior record of 12 3s was held by three people:
-Curry -- Feb. 27, 2016 at the Oklahoma City Thunder
-Kobe Bryant -- Jan. 7, 2003 vs. the Seattle SuperSonics
-Donyell Marshall -- March 13, 2005 vs. the Philadelphia 76ers (Marshall played for the Warriors from 1995 to 2000)

Three days before torching New Orleans -- in the Warriors' previous game against the Los Angeles Lakers -- Curry went 0-for-10 from beyond the arc at Staples Center. This snapped his NBA-record streak of 157 straight regular season games with a 3-pointer, and 196 straight overall games (including playoffs) with a 3-pointer.

But we aren't here to focus on that.

Instead, let's take a look at five of the best anecdotes from the night the three-time NBA champion made a baker's dozen from 3-point range:

1) Curry leaned left.

2) Curry was consistent throughout the entire game.

3) Curry needs help from his teammates to be successful (sarcasm font).

4) Steve Kerr's got jokes!

5) The 2015 NBA Finals MVP had a classic stat line:

Don't forget to watch the re-air of Curry's legendary performance tonight at 8 p.m. PT on NBC Sports Bay Area.
