Warriors GM Bob Myers laid out his expectations for Golden State’s two lottery picks and why he isn’t expecting the rookies to be the reason the Warriors win or lose next year.
The Warriors own the rights to the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Golden State also had the seventh selection in 2012, when they took Harrison Barnes.
And Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers on Tuesday night shared an interesting anecdote from the pre-draft process nine years ago.

SIGN UP HERE "Nobody that was in the top seven would come see us. Even Harrison -- we had to go to New York to see," Myers revealed. "And I don't know why that was. I guess we weren't really a good brand then or maybe players didn't want to come.
"But we couldn't get a lot of the players that were in our range to even visit us."
Well. Things certainly have changed as the Warriors are a global brand now having won three titles in a five-year span from 2015 to 2019.
And the franchise absolutely expects the core of Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson to be a championship contender again.

"I think this [time around] will be different," Myers said. "I think we'll get in more guys for the seventh pick ... which is always helpful to get guys into your facility."
The Warriors also have the 14th overall selection, so it's safe to assume that a bunch of prospects will be at Chase Center over the next month.
