KD makes ambiguous comment about viral Kyrie All-Star video

Former Warriors superstar Kevin Durant launched a new podcast earlier this week called "the etcs w/ KD," and his Brooklyn Nets teammate, Kyrie Irving, was the guest on the inaugural episode.

As Irving discusses his journey through the NBA, the following exchange takes place.

Irving: "(In) 2019, we unveil one of the biggest surprise moves in NBA history -- nobody ever thought it would happen (laughing)."

Durant: "Yeah, especially after the All-Star Game video when they caught us in the hallway. That's when it was solidified that we were going somewhere. They didn't know for a fact where it was. But it was somewhere. But ..."

It is unclear if KD is being sarcastic and mocking the media, or if he's being serious. I'm definitely leaning towards the former.

You might remember the viral video from 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte of the two-time NBA Finals MVP and Irving talking in a hallway.

Irving a couple of days later gave quite the response when he was asked about the footage.

“It's just crazy. This is the stuff that just doesn't make the league fun. It’s two people having a conversation," he told reporters. "It's a video of somebody assuming what we are talking about right?

"It's a video of me and one of my best friends talking. And then it turns out to be a dissection of a free-agency meeting? That’s what disconnects me from all that s--t."

While it's very likely the two were not actually discussing their future together during that specific moment, countless reports have indicated that KD and Kyrie discussed the concept of teaming up during private conversations well before that video surfaced.

And in the end, they decided to play together. So the speculation from the basketball world at that time was fair.
