Klay jokes he's glad Draymond yells at Wiseman instead of him

Warriors star Draymond Green has taken rookie center James Wiseman under his wing, much to the delight -- and relief -- of Klay Thompson.

"It's great for James. He needs that," Thompson told Warriors TV broadcasters Bob Fitzgerald and Kelenna Azubuike on Saturday night during NBC Sports Bay Area's telecast of Golden State's game against the Detroit Pistons.

"I've been hearing Draymond yell at me for 10 years, so it feels good to hear him yell at somebody else," Thompson added, jokingly.

If you were worried Thompson had lost his wry sense of humor while rehabbing from a torn Achilles, fear not.

No matter how many times the 2016-17 NBA Defensive Player of the Year has raised his voice at Thompson since the two became teammates in 2012, they've forged a strong bond. Green said in December that it was "hurtful" to learn of Thompson's injury because of how much the Splash Brother loves his craft. Still, he was confident Thompson would make it all the way back.

"He embodies everything it means to be a Warrior," Green said at the time. "No pun intended, I think we all know how tough Klay is. He's tough as nails."

From the (good-humored) sound of it, Thompson's going to need some of that toughness once he's back on the court and within shouting distance of his fellow three-time champion.
