Klay reveals unexpected Dubs teammate that makes him laugh

Klay Thompson has to be the funniest dude on the Warriors.

Nico Mannion might have briefly stole his thunder when he made Steph Curry spit out water on the floor during a timeout recently, but Thompson is the undisputed funny man on the Dubs following his reprisal as Reporter Klay during Saturday’s rout of the Detroit Pistons.

So, who makes Thompson laugh when he’s around his teammates? Turns out it’s humble veteran forward Kevon Looney.

“Loon makes me laugh,” Thompson said. “Loon is a man of very few words, but when he does speak, it’s always insightful and he always means it. I love when Loon talks. It’s rare.”

On a team full of so many big personalities, Looney often gets lost in the shuffle. But the sixth-year pro is a key veteran presence on the frontcourt along with Draymond Green.

Looney will turn 25 on Saturday but is pretty sage and seasoned when comparing him to youngsters like 19-year-old rookie James Wiseman. Kerr likes to point out how Looney got minutes in four straight NBA Finals runs from 2016-19.

Full disclosure, Thompson also has another reason to root for Looney.

“He wears my shoes, too,” Thompson said. “I love the guy.”
