LeBron James' first season as a Los Angeles Laker has come to an end with six games remaining on the schedule.
The Lakers announced Saturday the team has decided to shut down James for the rest of the regular season.
“After consulting with our team doctors and medical staff, we have decided to hold LeBron out of games for the remainder of the season," the Lakers wrote in an official statement. "This decision will allow his groin to fully heal, and is best for the future success of both LeBron and the Lakers.”

For the first time since 2005, we will not see LeBron in the playoffs as the Lakers (34-42) have already been eliminated. This also means James will not be suiting up against the Warriors when they play the Lakers at Staples Center on Thursday, April 4. James finishes the season having played only 21 minutes against the Warriors this season.
It's safe to say Year 1 fell significantly short of expectations for LeBron and the Lakers.
