Klay Thompson and the Warriors received some good news on Monday morning.

The MRI on Thompson's right knee came back clean, league sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

So when will the five-time All-Star return to game action? That all depends on one thing:

Thompson hurt his knee last Thursday against the Magic when he drove to the basket and fell to the ground. Here is the video:

Soon thereafter, the Warriors called timeout and Thompson was subbed out of the game. But he returned for the final 3:39 and spoke to reporters after the loss.

Golden State elected to sit the two-time All-NBA selection on Saturday night in Philadelphia. As Steve Kerr told reporters after shootaround that day: "It doesn't make sense to play him."

Will Thompson play on Tuesday night against the Celtics? You can expect the Warriors' head coach to provide some sort of update after practice on Monday afternoon.
