After a strong performance in Boston on Saturday night, the Warriors want to see a little more out of Gary Payton II.

The Warriors will be signing the 28-year-old to a second 10-day contract, The Athletic's Anthony Slater reported Sunday morning, citing league sources.

Payton played a little over seven minutes in Saturday night's 119-114 loss to the Boston Celtics, scoring two points and pulling down two rebounds along with a steal.

Known as a defensive specialist, Payton II has averaged 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds over his five appearances with the Warriors in his first 10-day contract.

Payton II built off an impressive performance in the G League bubble, where he was named the Defensive Player of the Year while competing with Raptors 905.

As Kelly Oubre continues to deal with a wrist injury and Juan Toscano-Anderson could miss time after a scary fall resulted in a concussion on Saturday, Payton II could be in line for some increased minutes over the next 10 days, beginning with the Warriors' contest against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.
