Recapping Jimmy Butler's WTF drama-filled return to T'Wolves practice

For the last three weeks, we've been mesmerized by the Jimmy Butler trade rumors. Most days have brought crazy reports about Butler's unhappiness in Minnesota and scuttled trade talks with the likes of Miami and Houston.

But Wednesday was by far the craziest day in this whole saga.

It all started with a tweet from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski at 8:48 a.m. PT, stating that Butler was at the Timberwolves facility and that he might practice with the team despite his demands for a trade.

Roughly three hours later, Woj reported that Butler did in fact practice with the T'Wolves.

If Butler was able to get on the floor with the teammates he apparently didn't want to play with, all must be good between the two sides, right? WRONG.

Just after noon PT, Woj dropped a bomb. Butler "verbally challenging teammates, coaches and front office" during the practice session and went after Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, coach Tom Thibodeau and GM Scott Layden.

What could Butler have possibly said? Get ready, because it was epic.

After practice ended, T'Wolves forward Anthony Tolliver was asked about what happened with Butler during practice.

Later, Woj tried to make it sound like Butler's explosion went over well with the T'Wolves players.

Then things got really strange. Word got out that Butler would sit down with ESPN's Rachel Nichols for an interview that would air a few hours after all this started. Interesting timing. Nichols was in Oakland Tuesday for a live edition of her daily show, "The Jump." And the next day, she just happens to be in Minnesota when all this drama went down.

Everyone on Twitter started to put the dots together and realized this all might have been one big plan.

Shortly after the interview aired, Nichols went on Twitter to explained how this all happened.

It was an insane, emotional day for NBA Twitter. Butler told Nichols he will be a T'Wolves practice on Thursday, so maybe tomorrow will be just as nutty as today.
