Report: W's encouraged by KD's rehab, hopeful for regular season return

When the Warriors announced the severity of Kevin Durant's knee injury, they did not rule out a return before the end of the regular season.

And based on the progress of his rehab, the team is "hopeful" but "cautiously optimistic" that Durant will indeed play before the end of the regular season, according to ESPN.

The Warriors have 11 games remaining on their schedule and their final regular season game is April 12 against the Lakers.

On Tuesday, prior to the Warriors game against Dallas, Durant was seen working out on the court and putting up jump shots.

Just a day earlier, Durant worked up a good sweat while riding a stationary bike in Oklahoma City.

Durant is expected to be re-evaluated by the Warriors' medical staff next week.

After initially struggling without Durant, the Warriors have won five straight games. Durant sat on the bench for the road wins in Oklahoma City and Dallas.

Over the weekend, Warriors PG Stephen Curry and PF Draymond Green addressed Durant's recovery.

“You can tell he’s making improvements and following the game plan,” Curry told the media. “I see him in the weight room doing cardio stuff trying to stay as close to game shape as he can while he’s hurt. You like to see improvements every day. We still don’t know when he’ll be back.”

“When he’s ready, we’ll know,” Green told the media. “But it’s not really our job to try to figure out every day how he’s doing. You can kind of see he’s getting better and you just leave it at that.”

Andre Iguodala uses a CJ McCollum tweet to prove a point to Brandon Jennings

It's mid-August and we are all bored right now.

We want the NBA regular season to arrive.

But since we can't speed the calendar up, we have to settle for some fun Twitter banter.

This time, it involved Andre Iguodala, Brandon Jennings and CJ McCollum.

It all started on Tuesday night when Jennings tweeted his Top 5 shooting guards ever, and Iguodala responded:

This led to a back-and-forth, and the following explanation:

Then on Wednesday morning, McCollum was back in the headlines (you can read about that here) -- which led to him tweeting:

Iguodala saw this tweet and assumed the four Hall of Famers McCollum was referencing were Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.

Iguodala assumed correctly.

Fun stuff!

Daryl Morey 'really curious' to see the Warriors with DeMarcus Cousins: 'Gonna be interesting'

If you are alive and love basketball, you have an opinion about DeMarcus Cousins signing with the Warriors.

On Wednesday morning, Rockets GM Daryl Morey shared his thoughts:

"I was really curious. Bob (Myers) is really good at his job. He likes to take smart gambles like I do, so I understood the move," Morey said on The Dan Patrick Show. "But it's gonna be interesting. Coach Kerr is one of the best, too. It's a little scary. They'll probably figure out how to make it work, but it's a little bit hard on paper to figure out how to make it work.

"But we do that well and so do they. They're gonna be a tough out again, obviously. They're arguably the best team in NBA history. They're on their path to maybe be able to make that argument."

It is fair to assume there will be some bumps along the way when it comes to assimilating Cousins.

If everybody is healthy and available, who closes games? If Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green are automatically on the floor during crunch time, that means either Andre Iguodala or Cousins will close the game on the bench.

It will be a balancing act for Kerr and the coaching staff...

The Warriors host the Rockets on Jan. 3 and Feb. 23 and play in Houston on Nov. 15 and March 13.
