The conference finals haven't even begun yet, and the NBA already is in shambles. The latest wild domino fell Thursday when coach Rick Carlisle left the Dallas Mavericks after 13 seasons.
Carlisle has informed Mavericks owner Mark Cuban he will not return as Dallas' head coach next season. His exit is just the latest match to be lit as the organization tries to extinguish their fire within and keep superstar Luka Doncic happy.

SIGN UP HERE It also means Steve Kerr now is the third-longest tenured head coach in the NBA. He sits behind just Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.
Kerr was hired by the Warriors as their head coach on May 14, 2014. He now has been Golden State's head coach for seven seasons. Spoelstra has been Miami's head coach for 13 seasons, and Popovich has been at the helm in San Antonio for 25 years.

Since replacing Mark Jackson, Kerr has 376 regular-season wins and 171 losses. Kerr also has led the Warriors to 77 playoff wins, including three championships in five trips to the NBA Finals.
The last two seasons obviously didn't go as planned for Kerr or the Warriors, but there seems to be no reason to think he won't be leading the way for years to come at Chase Center.
