Steph Curry passes Ray Allen for most 3-pointers in NBA playoff history

In a couple years, Steph Curry will hold the NBA record for the most 3-pointers made during the regular season.

For now, he'll have to settle for most 3-pointers made in the playoffs.

Facing the Clippers in Game 1 on Saturday night, the Warriors star passed Ray Allen on the all-time postseason 3-pointers list.

Curry came into the first-round series needing eight treys to pass Allen's mark of 385. The record-breaker came with 6:38 left in the fourth quarter, and it gave the Warriors a 108-92 lead.

"That's pretty special," Curry told ABC's Lisa Salters after the Warriors' 121-104 win. "I always talk about longevity and the all-time great shooters -- Ray Allen, Reggie Miller. Any time you can pass them in the record books, it's pretty special.

"I shoot a lot of them, so I got to make a lot of them."

Curry achieved the record in his 91st career playoff game. It took Allen 171 games to hit 385.
