Steph's surprise answer to if he ever gets bored of shooting

Share

Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time.

That became official on Dec. 14 against the New York Knicks when the Warriors star dethroned Hall of Famer Ray Allen for most 3-pointers made in NBA history.

Steph has undoubtedly changed the game of basketball. His elite sharpshooting and swagger is something we’ve never seen before.

But it was a process for the 13-year NBA veteran, who worked hard to get to where he is today. Reps after reps after reps are the reason we get to witness greatness from the 3-point king.

Week after week, Steph puts up thousands of shots in practice.

But does the greatest shooter of all time ever get bored of, well, shooting?

“That’s a great question,” Curry told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Grant Liffmann on Dubs Talk. “When you’re tired, it’s a mental challenge to try and come with the same energy and the same intentions of what you’re doing because fatigue is a threat to any kind of progress in that respect.

“But, I wouldn’t say I ever get bored because there’s always an inherent challenge to the workout that you’re doing. You never go out there without a prescribed amount of shots you have to make or a certain percentage. So, that competition keeps it fresh all the time.”

Steph has been in the headlines a lot this season.

In November, Steph dropped 50 points and 10 assists for the first time in his career, passing Wilt Chamberlin as the oldest player in history to record those numbers.

He made NBA history at Madison Square Garden in December after passing Allen for most career triples made.

Steph hit his first career buzzer-beating game-winner in January in a 105-103 win over the Houston Rockets.

And pretty much any three he makes from here on out will be historic.

Incredible.

“I just get lost in that window of time that I’m just hooping,” Curry told Liffmann. “If that ever changes then we might be in trouble in terms of your passion for the game and all that. But I don’t think I’m anywhere close to that.”

Phew.
