Kerr: Warriors getting ‘ass' kicked by teams out for revenge

To say that the Warriors are vulnerable would be an understatement; Teams actually are looking forward to facing the reigning NBA champions.

After the Warriors' 130-119 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night at Footprint Center, Golden State fell to an eye-popping 0-8 on the road this season.

They did so in a game where Steph Curry scored a whopping 50 points with nine rebounds and six assists on 17-of-28 shooting from the field and 7-of-11 from 3-point range.

Speaking to reporters postgame, Warriors coach Steve Kerr discussed what has been missing during the Warriors' (6-9) slow start to the season and why teams are eager to play Golden State after the historic dynasty tormented the league for nearly a decade.

"If things aren't going well, somebody calls the group into the foul line, get everybody together and motivate the group," Kerr said. "All that stuff is missing right now, I saw a lot of hanging heads tonight, I think we're feeling sorry for ourselves and nobody is going to feel sorry for us. So everyone can't wait to play us and kick our ass.

"We've had a lot of success and a lot of fun, a lot of joy beating people over the years and teams don't forget that. So they're having their fun now as they should. I've also felt the game rewards you if you commit to the game. If you really compete together, shots go in, calls go your way, breaks go your way, and we're not earning any of that stuff and that's why we're winless on the road. It's a pick-up game."

Teams smell blood in the water and they haven't been shy about beating up on the Warriors while they're at their most vulnerable.

As long as Curry continues to receive little-to-no help on offense and the Warriors' defense continues to be non-existent, opposing teams will be licking their chops facing off against a team that likely has humiliated them at some point over the years.
