First, it was reported Markelle Fultz would only work out for the Celtics. Now, conflicting reports from the Sacramento Bee leave question of a potential workout with the Kings.
Fultz, the consensus top overall pick in this month’s NBA draft, was in Boston this week, with word spreading that other teams wouldn’t get to work him out. Yet the Sacramento Bee’s Ailene Voisin reported early Friday morning that the Kings, who own the fifth and 10th picks in the draft, could hold a workout with the player.
Later on Friday morning, Jason Jones of the same outlet reported that Fultz would not meet with the Kings this weekend, but that something could still happen between the two teams.
Top prospects limiting their pre-draft workouts is not uncommon. In addition to Fultz keeping short list, projected No. 2 Lonzo Ball declined a workout with the Celtics and will only meet with the Lakers, which he did this week.
