The Boston Bruins announced Saturday they have signed forward Jack Studnicka to a two-year contract extension.

Studnicka, 23, will have an annual NHL cap hit of $762,500. The contract is a two-way deal for the 2022-23 season and a one-way deal for the 2023-24 season.

Studnicka played 15 games for the B's during the 2021-22 campaign, recording three assists. He tallied 10 goals and 25 assists in 41 games with the Providence Bruins.

If Studnicka fails to make the Bruins roster out of camp, he will hit the waiver wire. The 6-foot-2, 186-pound center cannot be sent back to Providence without waivers due to his playing time in the NHL.

Studnicka initially was selected by Boston in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
