The Boston Bruins will celebrate a very special milestone during the 2023-24 NHL season when they mark the 100th anniversary of the team's founding in 1924.

The B's are one of the Original Six franchises and were the first American team to join the NHL. The league didn't expand beyond the Original Six until 1967.

The Bruins unveiled a special centennial logo during Monday's 2023 Winter Classic victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at Fenway Park.

The team also announced a few initiatives to celebrate its 100th season, including a special exhibit showcasing the team's history.

"As part of the celebration, the Bruins are developing a state-of-the-art, immersive exhibit that celebrates the franchise's rich 100-year history," the Bruins wrote in a press release. "This all-new experience, which will be located inside TD Garden, will be designed for fans of all ages to enjoy. It is expected to open in 2024."

The Bruins are hoping to make the 2022-23 season a special one, too, and they're off to a good start with a league-best 29-4-4 record entering Tuesday. They are currently the favorite to win the Stanley Cup.
