BOSTON -- The Stanley Cup is at TD Garden for Wednesday night's much-anticipated Game 7 showdown between the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues.
The Bruins could be getting some reinforcements on the blue line. Matt Grzelcyk is a "game-time decision", per head coach Bruce Cassidy. The young defenseman hasn't played in the series since he was knocked out of Game 2 in the first period on a dangerous hit from behind by Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist. Grzelcyk returning likely would result in defenseman Connor Clifton coming out of the lineup. Defenseman Steven Kampfer and forward David Backes are expected to be the other healthy scratches.
Blues forward Ivan Barbashev is coming back into the lineup after being suspended for Game 6. He'll replace Robert Thomas. St. Louis defenseman Joel Edmundson is replacing Robert Bortuzzo on the third defense pairing.
Tuukka Rask will start in net for the Bruins. He is aiming for his first Stanley Cup title as a starting goalie. He was the backup on the 2011 Bruins team that beat the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7 of the Cup Final. Rookie netminder Jordan Binnington will start for the Blues. A Game 7 win would give Binnington the record for the most victories (16) by a rookie goalie in one playoff run.
