The latest chapter in the Bruins-Leafs rivalry begins Thursday night at TD Garden when Boston hosts Toronto for Game 1. The Bruins are hoping for a repeat of last year when they dominated the Leafs by a combined score of 12-4 over the first two games. The B's took a 2-0 lead en route to Toronto and ultimately won the series in Game 7.
The Leafs have reasons to be more optimistic about stealing one of the first two games in Boston this time around. They signed superstar center John Tavares last summer, and he scored a career-high 47 goals in his debut season for Toronto. The Leafs also were among the best road teams in the Eastern Conference during the regular season with a 23-12-6 record away from the Air Canada Centre.
