The Bruins have lost out on the John Tavares sweepstakes as the former Islanders star is headed to Toronto on a seven-year contract.

Boston was one of six teams in the running for Tavares. The other five were the Islanders, Sharks, Stars, Lightning, and of course the Leafs.
