While the coronavirus has seen many cases throughout the NBA, the NHL had yet to announce a positive test from one of their athletes -- until today.

An unidentified Ottawa Senators player has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, the team announced late Tuesday night.

As for how this affects the Boston Bruins -- it shouldn't. The B's haven't played the Senators since Dec. 9 and have seen little, to no crossover in opponents, according to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Ty Anderson.

The NHL, like every other professional sports league, has put its season on pause due to the coronavirus outbreak, and there is no word on when, or if the season will resume sometime in the future.
