Celtics among possible suitors for Greg Monroe

Greg Monroe and the Suns agreed to a contract buyout, and the Celtics are among several contending teams with an interest to sign the big man, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski mentions the Celtics can use part of the $8.4 million disabled player exception gained after the Gordon Hayward injury to sign Monroe, who was was making $17.8 million in the final year of his contract.

Monroe averaged 11.2 points per game and eight rebounds with the Suns this season. He will remain on waivers for 48 hours before becoming a free agent if unclaimed.
