On Monday night's episode of Early Edition, Boston Celtics legend Cedric Maxwell and host Phil Perry discussed the current landscape of the NBA, and how the power has shifted from teams to players.
Maxwell specifically had some strong thoughts on loyalty in the league and the amount of player movement in today's game.
"Isn't it amazing how we've changed now? When I played, loyalty wasn't...When (the Celtics) traded me, where was the loyalty at?... It is called a business."
In 1985, one year after the Celtics won the title, Boston traded Maxwell and a draft pick for Bill Walton. Today, player movement — especially among superstars — is even more prevalent.
