Brad Stevens was the bearer of both bad news and good news prior to Tuesday night's Boston Celtics-Philadelphia 76ers showdown.
Starting with the bad, Celtics newcomer Evan Fournier was ruled out for Tuesday's game due to health and safety protocols. Stevens wouldn't get into specifics, but the C's head coach says he wouldn't expect to see Fournier suit up this week.

Given Fournier's recent performance, that's a tough pill to swallow. The 28-year-old is 11-for-16 from 3-point range over his last two games against the Houston Rockets and Charlotte Hornets. He dropped 23 and 17 points in those games respectively off the bench.

Now for the good news.
Stevens also said veteran big man Tristan Thompson could make his long-awaited return to the C's lineup as soon as Wednesday night vs. the New York Knicks. Thompson hasn't played since March 14 due to health and safety protocols.
Without Fournier and Thompson, the Celtics will look to extend their win streak to three games when they host the Sixers on Tuesday night. Tip-off for the matchup is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston.
