Celtics update Robert Williams' status ahead of Game 1

Robert Williams is good to go for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

The Boston Celtics have listed the big man as available for Thursday night's showdown vs. the Golden State Warriors. He had been questionable with lingering soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee.

Williams was the only player on the C's injury report heading into the matchup.

Williams' knee clearly limited him throughout Boston's Game 7 win over the Miami Heat. The 24-year-old was seen limping and struggling to move laterally during his 15 minutes on the court. Some, including our own Brian Scalabrine, believed it would be wise of the Celtics to rest Time Lord for Game 1.

Nonetheless, Williams will give it another shot and look to be a difference-maker as he's been all season long for the C's. If he's anything close to his usual self, he'll give Golden State some serious issues in the paint.

Tip-off for Celtics-Warriors Game 1 is set for 9 p.m. ET at Chase Center. Coverage begins right here on NBC Sports Boston with Celtics Pregame Live at 7:30 p.m.
