Celtics rookie Tremont Waters pays tribute to late father with message on sneakers

Tremont Waters took the court on Saturday night despite the tragic passing of his father two days ago.

Edward Waters Jr. was found dead in a Connecticut hotel on Thursday night, and officials have since ruled the death a suicide. With a heavy heart, the Celtics rookie still started in his team's Summer League quarterfinal matchup vs. the Grizzlies and honored his father with a message on his sneakers:

The message reads, "July 11, 2019. EBW II. Team Waters! Waters Way!"

Waters, a 21-year-old guard out of LSU, agreed to a two-way contract with the Celtics earlier this week.
