Enes Kanter has done something that will surely endear him to the Boston Celtics faithful. On the Fourth of July, Kanter took time to clap back at FS1's Nick Wright after he continued to criticize the Celtics.
On First Things First with Cris Carter, Wright was once again critical of the Celtics' offseason and said that the whole ordeal was "a disaster." Here were his exact words from that segment, via the First Things First Twitter account.
The Boston Celtics plan was Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Al Horford. That has turned into Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Enes Kanter. That’s a disaster.
Wright would go on to say that replacing Irving with Walker was an even swap, but he specifically called the Kanter for Horford swap a disaster. Kanter didn't take too kindly to that, so he fired back at Wright on Twitter.
This is a pretty epic clap-back, and it demonstrates that Kanter surely won't be afraid to be vocal in support of himself and his teammates. That could quickly make him a fan favorite in Boston.
Kanter won't replace everything that Horford did, but at a price-tag of just under $10 million for two years, he won't be expected to. Horford, meanwhile, signed with the Philadelphia 76ers for $109 million over four years. While Horford is still a strong all-around player, that is a lot of resources to sink into a 33-year-old big man.
