Isaiah Thomas' latest NBA comeback attempt is underway, and it's off to an encouraging start.

The former Boston Celtics guard made his NBA G League debut Wednesday night for the Denver Nuggets' affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold. He finished with 42 points on 16-of-30 shooting to go with eight assists, six rebounds, and two steals in 42 minutes.

Check out the highlights from Thomas' 42-point outburst below:

A familiar sight for C's fans who watched "The Little Guy" electrify the team from 2014-17.

Thomas will command the attention of NBA scouts when he competes in next week's G League Showcase. That will be the 32-year-old's best chance to show he still has what it takes to contribute on an NBA roster. The showcase is set to run from Dec. 19-22 in Las Vegas.

Despite Thomas' scoring outburst, Grand Rapids fell to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, 131-127. Thomas will take the court for the Gold again Friday night vs. the Windy City Bulls.
