Jayson Tatum's slump from 3-point range reaches longest stretch of career

For the fourth time in his last seven games, Jayson Tatum recorded a triple-double for the Boston Celtics on Friday night.

Tatum had a team-high 27 points, connecting on 8 of 13 shots from inside the arc, with 10 rebounds to go along with seven assists in a 109-105 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

But Tatum missed all six of his attempts from 3-point range, including a 26-foot step back 3 with 6.7 seconds left and Boston trailing by a point, his 20th straight misfire from beyond the arc.

Forsberg: What's wrong with Tatum's shot, and can fixing it save the C's?

When Tatum missed his 18th straight 3 earlier in the game against Portland, it became the longest such streak of his career.

Tatum missed his final three attempts from 3 in a win over the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, all four 3s in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday and all seven treys in a loss against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday.

For the season, Tatum is shooting 31.1 percent from 3-point range, easily the worst of his career and down more than 7 percentage points from 38.6 last season. Tatum is taking an average of 8.2 shots from 3 per game, the most of his career.
