Report: Could Celtics trade up for Hawks' No. 6 pick?

If there's talk of a potential trade in the 2020 NBA Draft, chances are the Boston Celtics are involved.

The Celtics own three picks in the first round -- No. 14, No. 26 and No. 30 -- and reportedly are angling to trade those selections for a higher draft pick or a veteran player.

Here's the latest scuttlebutt from The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor: The C's apparently are one of several teams interested in trading with the Atlanta Hawks for their No. 6 overall pick.

We've seen chatter of Boston potentially trying to move up to the No. 9-to-No. 11 range, but the sixth pick would be a significant jump that may require Danny Ainge to include at least one player in addition to draft picks in a potential deal.

If there's a player the Celtics covet at No. 6, however, perhaps Ainge would pull the trigger. The C's reportedly have their eye on USC big man Onyeka Okongwu, who's projected as a top-10 pick and went as high as No. 5 in O'Connor's latest mock draft.

In any case, Boston has plenty of incentive to swing a draft-night trade: The C's have drafted a whopping 17 players over the last four years and have four 2019 draft alumni on their current roster, so they may not have the roster space to add more rookies to the mix.
