Report: This East team asked C's about possible Kemba trade

Are the Boston Celtics ready to move on from Kemba Walker?

With the 2020 NBA offseason officially in full swing, the C's guard is among the most notable players named in recent trade rumors. If Boston aims to swing a major deal before or during Wednesday's NBA Draft, Walker would be one of its most valuable trade chips.

2020 NBA Mock Draft: Who will C's add in Round 1?

Adding fuel to the rumors Tuesday was a report from The Athletic’s Zach Harper, who wrote Danny Ainge was offering Walker to “everybody” in an effort to stock up on draft picks which would’ve then been flipped to the New Orleans Pelicans for guard Jrue Holiday.

Holiday has since been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, but we now know of at least one team that apparently showed interest in Walker.

Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer said on WEEI's "Ordway, Merloni & Fauria" the Chicago Bulls reached out to the C's about a potential trade involving the four-time All-Star.

Perhaps the Holiday deal falling through means Walker will remain in Boston. But with Ainge likely still looking to part ways with his first-round picks (nos. 14, 26, 30), it'll be worth closely monitoring the rumor mill over the next day or two.

The 2020 NBA Draft is set to begin Wednesday night at 8 p.m.
