NBA players who signed free-agent contracts in the summer can now be traded.
The restriction on trading these players was lifted at midnight Saturday, and this might open up the trade market for teams in search of roster upgrades or future assets.
There have been several rumors linked to players who can now be traded, and one such player is Phoenix Suns forward Trevor Ariza. He played a key role in the Houston Rockets reaching Game 7 of the Western Conference finals last season, then took his talents to Phoenix by signing a one-year contract with the Suns in July.
Ariza nearly was traded to the Washington Wizards on Friday night, but the deal fell through. The Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets reportedly are among the teams interested in Ariza. The veteran forward could really help a contending team, and with the Suns headed for another high lottery pick, don’t be surprised if he's on the move before the trade deadline in February.
Here’s a list of notable players eligible to be traded on Dec. 15.
