Terry Rozier denies report he's unhappy with playing time and wants Celtics to trade him

Terry Rozier has been Topic One in Celtics Nation for the last two days, ever since reports surfaced that claimed Rozier was unhappy with his reduced playing time and "at least seven" NBA teams were keeping an eye on the situation in the hopes of trading for him.

But Danny Ainge debunked the stories during his 'Toucher and Rich' appearance Thursday morning in Boston. And on Thursday afternoon in Phoenix, during the Celtics' shootaround prior to their Thursday night game against the Suns, Rozier poured more cold water on it all.

"What Danny said makes sense because he knows me," Rozier said. "And if you don’t know me, then you would probably think I would say something like that.

"I woke up to the news . . . I don’t know where it came from. I’m happy to be in this position I’m in. I’m playing on a team that has a chance to be in the championship, so I’m not really worried about what’s being said. Danny knows and that’s why he says what he said.”

Rozier did admit it’s been an adjustment going back to a reserve role.

"I go from starting in the playoffs in games to coming off the bench. I’m pretty sure it’s not easy for nobody,” said Rozier. "I’m not complaining and, if you know me, I’ve never been one to complain. I’ll never go to the media or bring out the unhappy thing. I would never do that. Like I said, people that know me know I wouldn’t do that. Never been a selfish type of person, selfish player, as you can tell the way I play, I’m all about team, we, everything.

"Everything will be all right. It’s not as bad as people make it seem.”

Asked about the report that there were seven potential suitors monitoring his situation, Rozier did have fun with that.

"That’s how it should be. It should be more,” Rozier said to laughter. "I’m just blessed, I’m blessed to be putting on this uniform, representing this organization every day. So I have no complaints.”
