Rob Gronkowski is arguably the best offensive weapon in the NFL, and he will be sticking around through the 2019 season.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media has reported on Monday that Gronk will be paid the remaining $6 million of a $10 million option bonus before Mar. 9, the start of the 2016 league year, which will prevent him from hitting free agency.
The $10 million option was included as part of the extension that was agreed upon between Gronkowski and the team back in 2012.
Gronk took to Twitter and went out of his way to point out that he’s going to be a pretty good deal for the Patriots over the next few years.
If ya think about it that Option pick up basically equals pay cut the next 4 seasons... I don't work hard for those reasons. Haha

To put the deal into perspective, the Indianapolis Colts reportedly re-signed Dwayne Allen to a four-year, $29.4 million deal and will make $12 million in year one.
