Charlie Weis: If McDaniels isn't heir apparent, it was dumbest move ever

Former Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis did not shy away from any opportunity to comment on Josh McDaniels decision to stay in New England.

According to Pro Football Talk, there has been no guarantee that McDaniels will be the next head coach of the New England Patriots.

Josh McDaniels decided to stay in New England, even after already hiring assistant coaches for his next job in Indianapolis.

"I was shocked," Charlie Weis said on Sirius XM today. "It's like a slap in the face."

"If he's not the heir apparent, then that would've been the absolute dumbest move in the history of sports."

Weis also added that he personally believes that McDaniels is the next head guy in New England, despite the current reports.

"But in one city, he's endeared himself. Let me be the first to lay a wager in Vegas that when Belichick leaves, Josh McDaniels is the next head coach in New England. It's like Secretariat running right now. I'd say the odds of it happening are like 100%"
