It's a tradition synonymous with the NFL Draft: Every year, teams clamor to find their next franchise quarterback.
So, who is this year's savior? There are several worthy contenders: Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray is projected to go No. 1 overall to the Arizona Cardinals, while Missouri's Drew Lock and Duke's Daniel Jones have first-round potential, as well.
But Trent Dilfer apparently believes in Dwayne Haskins, and he compared the Ohio State QB to a certain New England Patriots legend to prove his point.
Here's what the quarterback-turned-NFL analyst told The MMQB's Albert Breer:
I thought Dwayne should’ve waited (to declare for the NFL Draft), but he’s the most like Tom Brady of anyone we’ve had. He sees it like Tom, he works at it, he plays that way. He plays on time, with his intellectual process. I don’t want to compare anyone to Brady, but he’s Tom Brady-ish.
That's a pretty high bar, Trent.
If we're comparing Haskins to Brady the Michigan senior, the Buckeyes QB has the upper hand: Haskins completed 70 percent of his passes for 4,831 yards and 50 touchdowns last season to earn Big Ten Player of the Year honors, while Brady connected on just 61 percent of his passes for 2,217 yards and 16 TDs as a senior.
Of course, Brady's incredible football IQ and work ethic helped him blossom from the 199th overall pick to the greatest QB of all time, and no one is expecting Haskins to be the next TB12. But in fairness to Dilfer, there are some physical similarities between the two -- Haskins stands at 6-foot-3, 231 pounds and ran a 5.01-second 40-yard dash, while Brady was listed at 6-foot-4, 211 pounds and ran a glacial 5.30-second 40 -- and apparent parallels in how they saw the game at the college level.

We should mention the Patriots are in the market for Brady's heir apparent in this year's draft, and while Haskins originally was projected as a mid-first round pick, there's an outside chance he could be available when New England is on the clock at No. 32 overall.
