Josh Gordon addresses lateness report

When reports came out ahead of Monday night's Bills game that Josh Gordon would be benched due to tardiness, it seemed like another mistake in a long line of them for the talented receiver.

But Monday night came and went, Bill Belichick said he didn't know anything about it, and Gordon played the whole game.

When asked about the reports on Friday, Gordon didn't have much to add.

“I do not have any [comment] on that, but I heard about it."

While he's only been here a few weeks, Gordon has already adjusted to the typical Patriots media responses to potential turmoil within the building.

Gordon said that he's received a lot of support from the organization when asked about how successful his efforts have been in terms of being where he needs to be, when he needs to be there.

NFL playmaker rankings: Despite upgrades, Patriots have long way to go

Are Patriots truly better than last year? Yes, and here are six reasons why

“If I haven’t, I have been helped along the way. I am definitely thankful for all the help I have gotten here and I am definitely appreciative as I figure my way out here... I am getting all the opportunity I could want, patience from the treatment stuff, coaching staff, teammates. Everybody is helping me along the way. It’s been a great opportunity and experience and I hope to keep that going the rest of the season.”

“For a guy like me in my position, transitioning could be a difficult thing for you and they have made it real easy for me."

Gordon has been through a lot over his career, but the Patriots seem like they're doing their part to ensure Gordon stays out of trouble and on the field.
