Perhaps the Patriots' Super Bowl LII loss to the Eagles wasn't Josh McDaniels' final game with the Patriots after all.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported Sunday that McDaniels has not yet told the Patriots he was leaving despite reports that he'd settled on the Colts' head coaching job. Florio's report suggests that McDaniels spurning the Colts after Indy thought it had a deal might hurt McDaniels' chances of getting a future head coaching job.

After the Super Bowl, Tom E. Curran asked McDaniels for an update.
Asked Josh McDaniels if was still going to Indy. He said, "I'm not going to talk about that tonight. I'm not going to talk about that."— Tom E. Curran (@tomecurran) February 5, 2018
That's not a yes or a no, so this could end up being a major story for the Patriots as they try to pick up the pieces.
