Bill Belichick has his man.
The New England Patriots will name Greg Schiano as their next defensive coordinator "imminently," The Boston Globe's Jim McBride reported Wednesday, citing a league source.
Schiano, who spent the last three seasons as Ohio State's defensive coordinator, reportedly met with Belichick earlier this week to finalize this move.
Belichick and Schiano have a close relationship dating to 2011, when the latter coached Belichick's son, Stephen, as a long-snapper at Rutgers.
Schiano will take over for ex-Patriots linebackers coach and defensive play-caller Brian Flores, who officially accepted the Miami Dolphins' head coach job Monday.
