The New England Patriots kept their unbeaten record intact with a comfortable 30-14 win over the New Jets at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

The Patriots scored touchdowns on their first three drives and gave another dominant defensive performance. The Jets' only touchdowns came on a pick-6 and a special teams fumble recovery. The Pats have outscored opponents 106-17 over the first three weeks of the season.

Let's take a look at the best and worst from the Patriots' Week 3 win over the Jets.

Tom Brady's stat line early in the second quarter was as follows: 14-for-17 on pass attempts for 182 yards and two touchdowns. It was a near-perfect start for the 42-year-old veteran, who helped lead the Patriots to touchdowns on their first three drives of the afternoon. Brady wasn't as dominant in the second half, but it didn't matter given the weakness of the opponent. He ended up completing 28 of 42 pass attempts for 306 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Brady was removed from the game in the fourth quarter with the Patriots comfortably leading 30-7, but he later returned after backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham threw a pick-6 that decreased the lead to 30-14.

Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed his first extra-point attempt Sunday after the Patriots marched right down the field and scored a touchdown on their opening drive. The PAT miss was Gostkowski's third of the season. He missed two extra points in Week 2 as well.

Gostkowski has three missed extra points on the season, two more than he had in all of 2018 (49-for-50). He finished Sunday 1-for-1 on field goals and 3-for-4 on extra points.

Potential Gostkowski replacements? Not that great

Devin McCourty now has a team-leading three interceptions this season (one in each game) after picking off Jets quarterback Luke Falk in the third quarter. McCourty returned his latest interception 24 yards to help set up an eventual 37-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski to put the Patriots up 23-0..

The Jets went 0-for-12 on third downs, and that pretty much prevented them from getting anything going offensively. They picked up just six first downs (two from a penalty) the entire game and never reached the red zone on offense. New York is far from the first team to struggle on third down versus New England this season. The Patriots entered Week 3 holding opponents to 5-for-27 on third down through the first two weeks.

Edelman left the game at the end of the first half and was ruled out in the fourth quarter (more on that later), but he was excellent in the action he saw. The Patriots wide receiver tallied a team-leading seven receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown.

Gunner Olszewski fumbled a punt late in the third quarter and the Jets recovered in the end zone for their first points of the game, thus ending New England's chances of back-to-back shutouts. Olszewski had called for a fair catch but wasn't able to handle the ball. Devin McCourty entered the game to return the ensuing Jets kickoff but the ball sailed into the end zone for a touchback.

This touchdown also was the first one of any kind scored against the Patriots all season.

The Patriots punter was one of the team's best players Sunday. Bailey punted seven times with an average boot of 44.3 yards. Five of those seven punts were downed inside the 20-yard line. His longest punt was 58 yards. Bailey's excellent performance on special teams made it very difficult for the Jets to get anything going offensively because their starting field position was often poor.

The Patriots passing attack was pretty good throughout the afternoon, but the run game wasn't as effective. New England ran for 68 yards on 27 carries (2.5 yards per rush) Sunday. Sony Michel had a 5-yard touchdown run to open the scoring, but he tallied just 11 yards on nine carries overall. The second-year running back played poorly in Week 1, too, when he carried the ball 15 times for 14 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

New England's longest run of the game was eight yards.

The Patriots defense still has allowed just three points all season. The unit held the Jets offense scoreless and gave up only 105 total yards of offense. New England's defense limited the Jets to 1.8 yards per rush and 3 yards per pass. The pass rush also gave another strong performance with five sacks and 10 QB hits.

Le'Veon Bell didn't live up to expectations for the Jets or fantasy football owners. The talented running back ran for just 35 yards on 18 carries (1.9 yards per rush) and caught only four passes for 28 yards. He also did not score a touchdown of any kind.

Julian Edelman suffered a chest injury near the end of the first half, went to the locker room and never returned. He was ruled out in the fourth quarter. Edelman missed most of training camp and preseason recovering from a broken thumb. Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon also got banged up late in the first half but quickly returned to game action. Gordon later had to leave the game again after getting his fingers caught in a Jets player's facemask. He returned after his fingers were taped up.

Patriots defensive lineman Adam Butler also left the game in the fourth quarter with a leg injury. Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower picked up a shoulder injury.
